A higher magnification view of the meristematic region shown in the previous light micrograph of grass root apical meristem. This is a zone adjacent to the quiescent center with the highest rate of cell division. Identify cells at different phases of mitosis. Note that the nuclei dominate in the meristematic cells. The red-stained bodies in the nuclei are nucleoli.
